Effective date
This Cookie Policy is effective as of 20 May 2026 and was last updated on 20 May 2026.
Categories of cookies we use
We classify cookies into four categories. The Site footer’s “Cookie preferences” control lets you accept or refuse each optional category.
Strictly necessary
Strictly necessary technologies are required to make the Site work. They are exempt from the consent requirement under most laws because the Site cannot function without them. They are always on.
The Site does not currently set any traditional strictly-necessary cookies. We do, however, store a local consent record in your browser’s localStorage (key: zinch_consent) so that we can remember whether you have accepted or declined optional categories. This record is described in the “Local storage we use” section below. It is local to your browser only and is never transmitted to Zinch or to any third party.
Functional
Functional cookies remember choices you make so the Site can offer a more personal experience (for example, remembering a theme preference). The Site does not currently set any functional cookies. The category is exposed in our preferences modal so that any future functional cookies inherit a working consent path.
Analytics
Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful, which paths visitors take through the Site, and where the experience breaks down. Analytics storage is denied by default and is enabled only after you grant consent. The specific analytics cookies are listed in the inventory table below.
Advertising / Marketing
We do not run advertising cookies. The category is listed in our preferences modal solely for transparency, and the toggle is locked off. Zinch does not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising, does not sell or share personal information for advertising, and does not embed third-party advertising trackers on the Site.
Cookie inventory
The table below lists each cookie set on the Site. We review this inventory periodically and update it when the cookies set on the Site change.
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) | Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated client identifier. Set only after analytics consent is granted. | 2 years |
| _ga_1889SK58ZD | Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) | Analytics | Persists session state for the specific Google Analytics property. The suffix is the Site’s GA4 measurement ID. Set only after analytics consent is granted. | 2 years |
If we add, remove, or change cookies, we will update this inventory. Material changes will be reflected in the “Updates” section below and in the effective date at the top of this policy.
Local storage we use
In addition to cookies, the Site uses your browser’s localStorage to persist a small record of your cookie preferences across visits. This record is local to your browser and is never transmitted to Zinch or to any third party.
| Key | Storage | Purpose | Schema | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| zinch_consent | localStorage (first-party) | Records your per-category cookie choices and the schema version so the banner does not re-prompt you on every visit. | JSON: version, updatedAt (ISO timestamp), categories (strictly_necessary, functional, analytics, marketing). | Persistent until you clear browser storage or use the “Cookie preferences” control to change your choice. |
You can clear this record at any time by clicking the “Cookie preferences” link in the Site footer (which lets you change your choices) or by clearing your browser’s storage for zinch.ai.
Third-party services
When you grant analytics consent, the Site loads Google Analytics 4, which is provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics’s use of information is governed by Google’s own privacy and security practices, including:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services
- Google ad-settings controls (not used by Zinch but disclosed for transparency)
We configure Google Analytics with IP-address handling and signal settings appropriate to a consent-managed analytics deployment, and we operate within Google Consent Mode v2 to make sure analytics storage is granted only when you have opted in.
We do not embed third-party advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or fingerprinting libraries on the Site.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track (DNT). Many browsers offer a Do Not Track signal that asks websites not to track you. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and we currently do not change behavior based on a DNT header alone. We rely instead on our consent banner and the Cookie preferences control, both of which give you a clearer and more granular choice.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where applicable law treats a GPC signal as an opt-out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, we honor that signal. Because we do not sell or share personal information for that purpose, a GPC signal does not change how the Site operates, but we record it as an opt-out request and will not introduce any practice inconsistent with the signal.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, applicable law, or our practices. We will update the effective date at the top of this policy. When the changes are material we will give you additional notice (for example, by re-showing the cookie banner). Your continued use of the Site after the updated policy takes effect indicates your acknowledgment of the update, subject to any consent requirements under applicable law.
